IATA Air Ticketing and reservation course in AJK

An Airline Ticketing Agent is a professional who is responsible for helping airline customers with their baggage checking, assigning seats, and lifting bigger bags on the belt behind the counter. He or she is responsible for handling tickets, alterations, cancellations, and providing flight timings information.

The Program is divided into two broad sections;

1. Aviation Theory

2. GDS Airfares and Ticketing – Tariff

The program constitutes of the aviation background, world geography, time zones, travel agency and IATA’s operations as theoretical learning. The practical section is based on, and constitutes 75% of this course, i.e the GDS Tariff, specifically on Travelport – Galileo. The GDS (Global Distribution System) is a software that serves live inventory, fares and airline schedule, and is a command-based setup that links travel consultants with the airlines. Students are taught from scratch up to the issuance of tickets, covering, fare pricing, all the relevant entries and nitty-gritty’s of the software. Once completed, students are professional enough to understand the travel-trade and are eligible to work in any travel agency or airline.
